Craig Whittaker From Environmental Solutions Group Obtains Healthy Homes Specialist Credential

Greensboro, N.C. (PRWEB) December 19, 2008 -- Craig Whittaker has been recognized as a Healthy Homes Specialist by the National Environmental Health Association and the National Center for Healthy Housing.

The Healthy Homes Specialist Credential is the newest addition to the National Environmental Health Association's eight other credential offerings. It was developed in partnership with the National Center for Healthy Housing and the National Healthy Homes Training Center & Network.

As President of Environmental Solutions Group, Dr. Whittaker has assessed over twelve hundred properties for a variety of environmental issues, including moisture, microbial growth, indoor air quality and energy consumption. He is widely known for his ability to diagnose an environmental problem in a home and develop a plan to make the home a healthier and more environmentally-friendly building.

The National Environmental Health Association (NEHA), the National Center for Healthy Housing, and the National Healthy Homes Training Center and Network have partnered to offer the Healthy Homes Specialist credential. This credential is designed for health and housing professionals in the public, private and non-profit sectors. NEHA is the leading national environmental health organization providing resources and credentialing capabilities.

Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) assesses residential and commercial properties for environmental issues and energy use. ESG is a provider of third party ratings for the Environmental Protections Agency's ENERGY STAR program, energy performance verification for federal tax incentive programs, and green build verification for the National Association of Home Builders.

Drawing on the original effort in 1937 that led to the creation of NEHA, the association today stands as a strong professional society with over 4,500 members across the nation. Clearly NEHA's mission, "to advance the environmental health and protection professional for the purpose of providing a healthful environment for all" is as relevant today as it was when the organization was founded.
